Honor Your Loved Ones with a Commemorative PlaquE

Our wall of Seward Mariners’ Memorial commemorative plaques tell a tale of their own: “The storm is over,” “Not all who wander are lost,” “Lost his life after MV Growler foundered,” “From Seattle to Nome;” to quote just a few messages. Your loved one may no longer be with you, but a plaque demonstrates they will not be forgotten. The lipstick print on Harold Moore’s plaque is renewed regularly by his wife. 

Those honored with a plaque do not have to have died at sea or spent their lives on the water. The only requirement is they have contributed in some way to our local seafaring history or maritime industry. Larger plaques not mounted on the lighthouse wall can also be purchased, such as the one honoring the crew of the research vessel Alpha Helix, which has been taken out of commission.
